Myette’s Full Liquor License Explained

Hello friends, neighbors, and customers.

As you know Myette’s has grown quite a bit in the past few years as we have reinvented ourselves. We are proud to have been voted the Readers Choice favorite liquor store for two years running. Our curated wine and beer selection definitely have us on the map. Home delivery of beer, wine, and ice cream has far exceeded our expectations.

Perhaps the most exciting thing about all this growth is how it has allowed us to become a better partner in the neighborhood and throughout the town. in 2019 our success allowed us to more than double our in-store staff with local folks. Our delivery team employes an additional 6-14 people depending on the season.

Adding a full liquor license will allow us to be able to continue to grow our business within our existing footprint. We expect that we will be able to add around 4 additional positions if we are successful.

As a neighborhood store, we are acutely aware of both the positives and negatives that a full liquor license would bring. We think that you will find our perspective both refreshing and unexpected. Here are some things that we would commit to.

  • no nips – ever
  • a curated selection of top sellers and unique local and hard to find liquor offerings
  • a measured introduction of liquor items that complement other small businesses in town rather than compete with them

The petition process is an uphill battle. First, we have to collect at least 100 supportive signatures. Then we petition the town for a license. The town and Myette’s would then have to petition the state for an additional liquor license. If the state approves then the normal licensing process returns to the town.

We would appreciate your support in this very initial stage of this process by signing either our instore or online position here.

Thank you for your support as we grow.
